The Fatherhood Conference
what is the nc fatherhood conference?
The NC Fatherhood conference has been structured to provide fathers with resources that will benefit them as parents and as role models. We are expecting over 700 fathers, males who serve as father figures, practitioners, and community advocates from across the state of North Carolina. Conference workshops were selected based on topics considered critical towards the development of a healthy child and to successful parenting. We have included interactive workshops that will provide participants with tools and materials they can use at home, in schools, and throughout the community. As part of the day, attendees will have the opportunity to visit vendor booths with an overall wellness theme.
The Fatherhood Conference planning committee invites you to submit your request to participate in this 6th annual event with attendance estimated at upwards of 700.

barbershop buzz
Each year local barbershops volunteer to host discussions about the importance of fathers and the barriers and challenges to fatherhood in Wake County. This is an initiative that was started by President Obama in 2014 who believed that historically, neighborhood barbershops have served as hubs where men go to discuss issues in the community (family, politics, and health, money and life issues). He believed that peer education among men is critical in disseminating healthy information about fatherhood and the role of fathers in society.
